Greening The Earth

Bunyuru

Coming together to solve global challenges.

THE PROJECT IS BUNYURU

CONDUCTED ON THE EDGE OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA’S NULLArBOR PLAIN

The small outback Aboriginal township of Bookabie on the Eyre Peninsula on the edge of South Australia’s Nullarbor Plain sets the scene for the members of the Tjilkaba/Scotdesco Aboriginal Community to demonstrate their vision for a solution for the rest of the World by putting words into action by partnering with Greening the Earth for the Bunyuru Project.

“THE GREENING THE EARTH PARTNERSHIP WITH THE TJILKABA/SCOTDESCO ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY IS A VISION OF HEALTH AND PROSPERITY FOR THE FUTURE WELLBEING OF OUR COUNTRY AND ITS PEOPLE.”

“It draws from spiritual, physical, social and cultural connections and the natural affinity and knowledge that Aboriginal Australians have of the land going back some 60,000 years, as the World’s oldest living culture.

“The cropping and manufacturing programs foster new employment, business, mentoring, and training opportunities for Scotdesco and the regional community, which, over time, will deliver improved skills and the profitable returns and economic self-sufficiency in a manner that is dignified and respectful of Aboriginal history, culture, and traditions.”

These are the words of Mr. Robert Larking – CEO Scotdesco Aboriginal Community (seen here explaining the Scotdesco Project to the Prime Minister of Australia, Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP, in October 2016).

Thus, the Bunyuru project conducted by Tjilkaba/Scotdesco Aboriginal Community in partnership with Greening the Earth becomes the yardstick for adoption by other rural and aboriginal communities of Australia as a model for self-empowerment and for other indigenous and rural communities of the world to adopt to address climate change and benefit from ESG action and a better life from the land.
